Chipping Barnet for Europe is a grassroots organisation that was set up by local residents at the end of 2017. We campaign both locally and nationally for the UK to remain in the European Union. We are agnostic of political party allegiance but have a clear mission.

If you would like to know more about us or would like to get involved please don’t hesitate to get in touch here

(a) To promote and campaign for policies that will ensure the UK remains safe, tolerant, outward-looking and prosperous, advocating that these policies can only be achieved by full and active membership of the European Union (EU)

(b) To resist in a principled fashion all attempts by the UK government and those in favour of leaving the EU to implement the result of the flawed referendum on June 23, 2016 and to campaign for the UK to rejoin the EU if it leaves the bloc

(c) To do this by highlighting, through peaceful communication, campaigning and rational argument, the economic, political, educational, social and cultural benefits of remaining in the bloc and by exposing the shortfalls and inaccuracies of the arguments made by those in favour of leaving the EU

(d) To encourage an active and informed interest amongst the citizens of Barnet in the affairs of the EU and its member states in the interests of continuing peace, international cooperation and understanding

Our agreed approach is to:

(i) uphold equal opportunities and work towards good relations amongst all members, discouraging any conduct that discriminates or harasses on grounds of race, religion, disability, political belief, gender or sexual orientation;

(ii) be tolerant of opponents but refuse to engage with deliberate provocation or trolling whether in public or in correspondence;

(iii) be non-party political but cooperate and liaise with other groups, including pro-European political candidates, in areas of common cause and potential benefit
